Honduras Map

Semana Santa, or Easter Week has finished, and Hondurans flocked to the different beach resorts around the country to enjoy their vacation and warm weather. Although the number of foreign visitors is still down, the final number of travelers was probably very close to the numbers experienced last year, thanks to the local tourists who did take the time out to travel and get to know more of their country. I believe that the foreigners that did travel during these dates where able to see that Honduras is a beautiful, safe destination.

My congratulations to the Ministry of Tourism for their media campaign that successfully motivated Honduras to travel within our country. I must also mention that the ministry of Security did an outstanding job promoting responsible driving and patrolling the most visited sites. While most of Honduras was out enjoying their vacations, the National Police where working hard to provide security and avoid traffic accidents. I must say job well done!

Travel into Honduras is on an upswing, and it is a good idea to enjoy your vacations here while there are not too many foreign travelers back. You will find friendly people proud of their country’s natural and cultural attractions willing to go the extra mile to make you feel happy and comfortable. Take advantage!
